Săcel Art Residency exhibiton
Pe parcursul a două săptămâni, un grup de artiști — Morgane Denzler, Damien Rouxel, Delia Popa, Ioana Cîrlig, Andreea Medar și Ilie Mihali — au reactivat proiectul la Săcel (Maramureș, România), la invitația Ancăi Poterasu (ARAC). A fost un timp colectiv de reflecție, întâlniri, experimente artistice, discuții îndelungate și intrebări asupra realităților agricole ale locului. Rămânem profund conștienți de fragilitatea acestor practici agricole.

Loc de Acțiune – Crețesti
Din 2020, Delia Popa se concentrează asupra locului său, satul Crețești, situat în comuna Vidra, în sudul județului Ilfov. În casa bunicilor, își stabilește studioul. În 2022, pornind de la această locație, lucrează în armonie cu casa: mobilierul, plăcile ceramice care împodobesc soba cu lemne, arhitectura, lemnul, obiectele cotidiene. De asemenea, lucrează cu ecosistemul grădinii: nucul, sera, culturile, locuitorii umani și mai-puțin-umani.

Expoziția ”You Betrayed the Party Just When You Should Have Helped It” face parte din proiectul „In(Visible) Traces. Artistic Memories of the Cold War”, inițiat de Documenta, Zagreb, și organizat împreună cu Asociația Română pentru Artă Contemporană, București; Blockfrei, Viena și Memorialul Bautzner Straße, Dresda. Proiectul își propune să implice artiști, cercetători, educatori, factori de decizie și cetățeni în reflecția, păstrarea și discutarea patrimoniului cultural european, cu accent pe siturile istorice din perioada Războiului Rece care au fost neglijate.

The Line of the Valley – Part II
In the summer of 2024, around twenty artists from different practices and nationalities gathered in Săcel, in the Maramureș region, in a residency hosted by Anca Poterașu. My Brilliant Friend is a project born out of the curatorial friendship between Seolhui Lee and Anca Mihuleț. The two curators met in 2019 while working for the Busan Biennale and Singapore Biennale, respectively, trying to solve the mystery around a video work by the Romanian-Cuban artist Sandu Darie.

The group exhibition curated by Marie Maertens presents works created during the residency by artists Yana Bachynska, Željko Beljan, Tanja Boukal, Anetta Mona Chișa, Kamruzzaman Shadhin, Megan Dominescu, Bogdan Rata, Dan Visovan, Delia Popa, Mihaela Moldovan, Loredana Ilie, Donald Simionoiu,Bernhard Frue, Ilie Mihali, Christina Zurfluh, using textile and recyclable materials. The works reflect both local and cultural influences and contribute to critical research aimed at developing a strategic action plan for the sustainable development of our community.

From Aurora Király’s landscapes to Delia Popa’s introspective reflections, Iosif Király’s blurring of reality and fantasy, Ioana Cîrlig’s documentation of coal miners, and Matei Bejenaru’s chronicles of forgotten spaces, Ecology of the Afterlife contemplates the interconnectedness of living beings.
