Her works investigate the duality between intimacy and identity, exploring polycentric practices and methods of emotional geography, ecology, and posthumanism. She studied photography at the Ostkreuzschule in Berlin and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Leipzig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized has-custom-border size-large event-artist-photo\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"530\" height=\"707\" src=\"https:\/\/www.arac.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/CFD_pozaCV2022.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1034\" style=\"border-radius:20px;object-fit:cover;width:186px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.arac.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/CFD_pozaCV2022.png 530w, https:\/\/www.arac.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/CFD_pozaCV2022-9x12.png 9w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 530px) 100vw, 530px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"event-artist-description\"><strong>Claudia-Florentina Dobre<\/strong> received her PhD in History from Laval University in Qu\u00e9bec in 2007 with a thesis on the memory of communist political persecution from a female perspective. The winner of several research grants, including the Robert Schuman grant from the European Parliament (in 2007), Claudia-Florentina Dobre has co-organized 10 international conferences, edited several volumes and journal issues, co-produced the documentary film \u201cStories from B\u0103r\u0103gan. Memories from the Romanian Siberia\u201d (2013), published 5 authored works, and coordinated or participated in numerous international projects.<br>Her research fields include: the history and memory of communism, the memory of political persecution, everyday life during the communist period, museums and memorials, and deportations during the Stalinist era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"event-artist-description\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"event-artist-description\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"event-artist-description\"><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column event-details-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:60%\">\n<p><strong>Round Table: Claudia Dobre and Patricia Morosan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"event-description\">November 19th, 17:00 &#8211; Anca Potera\u0219u Gallery, Popa Soare 26<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The discussion explore the theme of sites of memory, the ways in which they can be protected and valued, their role in society, and the potential of art to respond to the challenges and transformations that these spaces involve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"event-description\">This talk is organized by ARAC in the framework of&nbsp;<em>AFAR Network&nbsp;<\/em>project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the project:<\/strong>&nbsp;The<a href=\"https:\/\/kulturasjecanja.documenta.hr\/en\/projects\/invisible-traces-artistic-memories-of-the-cold-war\/\">&nbsp;(In)Visible Traces&nbsp;<em>Artistic Memories of the Cold War<\/em><\/a>&nbsp;project brings together artists, cultural professionals, researchers, youth, educators, and policymakers to engage in a collaborativeexploration of European cultural heritage, with a focus on the Cold War era. The project highlights the importance of preserving and recognizing historical buildings and sites that played a key role during the Cold War, many of which are now vacantor at risk of being forgotten. By combining artistic expression, research, and heritage protection, the project aims to shed light on these neglected locations.
